Estimated annual base pay: $112,200 (minimum) - $140,300 (midpoint) - $168,400 (maximum)

Are you ready to make your mark? If you're an experienced Mechanical Packaging Engineer, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

The Staff Mechanical Engineer reports to an Engineering Leader and is responsible for the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of engineering tasks. This position works under a moderate to low level of supervision. Independent technical decisions on work are covered by precedents; this position seeks direction/guidance on novel or controversial problems. In addition, this position may participate in project-specific relationship building with Customers, Suppliers, individuals, or organizations.

What you will be doing...

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate project phases

  • Develop new approaches to resolve complex problems

  • Promote process improvements

  • Perform engineering work involving non-standard materials and difficult coordination requirements

  • Provide direct support to sales and development through proposals and design reviews

  • Troubleshoot and analyze component/system problems independently

  • Write and perform component tests independently

  • Set technical direction on projects to level I, II, and III Engineers

  • Design complex systems in accordance with the PLC process

  • Understand and apply Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing at an expert level

  • 3D model complex housings in 5 axes with several discreet functions

  • Perform advanced level linear and radial stackup studies

  • Optimize designs based on competing inputs to achieve the best possible design

  • Generate and maintain component design proposals while balancing customer specifications and manufacturing/cost implications

  • Sit on internal standard committees and mentor drafters and designers in proper techniques and application of GD&T

What we are looking for...

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Technical degree

  • Greater than 8 years professional experience in a related field or an entry-level PhD
