Lutheran Social Services of Illinois is a not-for-profit social service agency with more than 70 program sites throughout the state of Illinois. Our services include counseling, mental health, substance abuse treatment, housing, work with prisoners and their families and services for older adults and a variety of services for children including preschool, foster care, and adoption.
LSSI is hiring a full-timeCST Recovery Specialist. Responsible for collaborating with other CST staff to offer a consumer's perspective and provide direct service to client the CST designated sites.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide consultation and input in CST treatment meetings and during day-to-day service provision.
  • Manage a caseload of clients providing supportive counseling as assigned by Supervisor and operate as part of a treatment team.
  • Facilitate, access and linkage to community resources for/with CST consumers and members.
  • Promote recovery and mental health treatment to CST consumers and members.
  • Meet with Supervisor regularly to discuss issues related to clients, report absences in a timely manner, and to discuss policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate individual Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP) and provide on-going intensive outpatient case management services in the community.
  • Provide transportation to clients.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.
Position Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Certified Recovery Support Specialist credential required; must be obtained within 18 months of date of hire.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • Proficient in the use of the electronic health care record required.
  • History of receiving mental health services.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience using a pc/computer, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Valid driver's license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.
