Description: | ATA Aerospace, a Joint Venture of ATA and ASRC Federal Analytical Services, is currently seeking one engineering interns to join our team for the 2019 academic year to support NASA Godard Space Flight Center (GSFC). |
Duties: | In this position, ATA Aerospace is seeking to hire one engineering intern to support development of a Micrometeorite Orbital Debris (MMOD) design guide for NASA GSFC; duties may include, but are not limited to: design and analysis, preparation of engineering documentation, research, data analysis, and engineering support for MMOD protection design and test activities. Interns will work independently on assignments as well as collaborate within Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and take direction Product Design Leads (PDLs) and/or senior engineers. |
Qualifications: | *Experience with MMOD designs and analysis tools like DAS and Bumper *Must be a matriculated student progressing towards a B.S. from an accredited institution of higher learning in the disciplines of Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent *Preferred experience working in group projects in academia or industry *Preferred experience working with CAD software to develop concepts and designs; PTC Creo preferred *Proficiency with MS Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook *Excellent written and communication skills |
