Major Responsibilities:

  • The Barista Attendant is an ambassador of Advocate Sherman Hospital providing exemplary customer service and customer interaction. Specific daily assigned tasks are also to be executed as set forth.
    •     1)Produce Starbucks coffee program and set up for the day. Open the coffee shop per service. Attend to customers needs and ring up sales. ring up sales, ensure all beverages are compliant with the Starbucks branded program following all recipies and standards while maintaining the integrity of the Starbucks program.
    •     2) Restock condiment and beverage areas. Wipes tables and chairs as needed to keep up seating area appearance.
    •     3)Maintain register area at all peak times providing exemplary customer service
    •     4)Clean and maintain Equipment, Counters, Storerooms, Bread & toaster area & Beverage area condiment area, and all tables, restock all paper supplies and cups, condiments, napkins, and plastic service ware. Place leftover breakfast pastries to individual bags with twist ties Replenish all POS impulse items for lunch service. Check Bottle Beverages, Chips, milks and all coffee areas. Check expiration dates milk, yogurt. Replenish and refresh as needed. Check cash drawer and inform supervisor of any funds needed prior to lunch Make sure all products and menu items/areas have the proper signage.
    •     5)Restock areas condiments, beverage coolers, grab & go cooler, paper goods etc. as needed throughout the day.
    •     6)Count closing bank and deposit into the safe with Supervisor Barista. Adheres to all Cash Policies and requirements and signs all necessary paperwork. Overages and underages are communicated and are kept to a minimum as per cash policy. Prepare cash drawer for next day. Follow opening drawer guidelines.
    •     7)Ensure proper hand off and complete assigned cleaning tasks.
    •     8)Maintain production records including holding temperatures, final cooking temperatures, end of service temperatures, and counts
    •     9)Ensure all products are properlly labeled and dated upholding operational standards
    •     10)Dust ledges and shelves to uphold quailty presentation of coffee shop at all times

Education/Experience Required:

  • High School Education or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Ability to Effectively communicate with all retail customers and associates. Basic math Skills
  • Serv Safe Certified within 6 months of hire

Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift up to 20-50 pounds occasionally nd/pr 10-25 pounds frequently and/or 10 pounds constantly. Large amounts of bending as related to essential job activities. Large amounts of time standing as related to essential job activities. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and priorities Must be willing and capable of working in a fast paced work environment Contact with cleaning chemicals, heat sources, electrical sources, cut sources and proper PPE required
  • This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For lifts over 35 pounds, lifting equipment is expected to be used or lift with at least one other associate when available. Unique lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case by case basis.
