POSITION TITLE: Safety Specialist (based in E. Dundee, IL)
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Employee Relations Business Partner
Supervises: N/A
Position Purpose: A role that adheres to TSP's mission and fundamentals. Under general supervision, monitors and coordinates a safety program: safety inspections, accident investigations, and safety training to include recommendations for improved practices/procedures.
SKILLS/BEHAVIORS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Team player with a positive attitude
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or 3 years of experience or equivalent
30-hour OSHA training card
Certified First Aid/CPR Trainer status preferred
Ability to recognize onsite risk factors and take appropriate action with firmness and tact
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the guidance of the Employee Relations Business Partner
Assists with development, implementation and maintenance of programs intended to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses
Assists with development, implementation and maintenance of incident prevention and loss control programs
Supports safety activities of Branch/Assistant Managers
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports to include OSHA 300 log
Liaise with and provide information for internal and external customers
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Willingness, ability, and stamina to work long hours during the snow season and as needed throughout the year.
Will be required at times to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
