We are looking for a Business Development Director, Biofortis Research in USA. Your mission will be to:

Purpose (Objective):

This position is responsible for leading and growing all business development activities for Biofortis, focusing on clinical research and scientific consulting services.


Main activities:


  • Create a business development program which will drive a larger pipeline of new projects and increased Biofortis revenue year over year.

  • Oversee the lead generation, lead qualification, proposal development and delivery and new project on-boarding processes.

  • Work collaboratively with science and operations teams to build targeted research proposals that are detailed, accurate and effective in securing business.

  • Utilize personal selling skills on selected focus accounts in order to grow the revenue and increase repeat business frequency and size.

  • Present our capabilities and technical qualification details and/or bring in technical experts as needed, in order to prepare the prospective client for the technical proposal phase.

  • Coordinate marketing efforts with the support of Marketing Communications to expand our reputation as a premier scientific research organization. This includes attending targeted trade shows and scientific meetings/conferences with the right scientific contribution as well as ensuring our web content and other client facing materials properly communicate our value.

Utilize the established CRM tool and other corporate sales processes to track contacts, proposals and follow-up activities according to company policy.

  • Conduct sales prospecting calls and calls to existing clients in order to build relationships.

  • Participate on key account teams as needed. Demonstrate the ability to win repeat projects.

Coordinate with other sales and marketing personnel.

  • Support Corporate Quality Continuous improvement processes.


Communication:


Internal Interlocutors: This position collaborates with other members of Marketing and Sales Departments.


External Interlocutors: The position frequently contacts clients and potential clients via video/telephone conversation and email to identify client needs and interest levels in Biofortis services. There is also contact with clients for fact-finding purposes, identifying potential business opportunities, and developing relationships.

The position is responsible for accurately communicating information to clients and potential clients.


YOUR PROFILE

Knowledge


Profile (required education/qualifications and professional background):

The Biofortis Business Development Director role requires experience and knowledge of human clinical trials. Job experience with a clinical trial site or CRO is a plus. This person ideally has an education in clinical nutrition, nutrition science, or other biological sciences; an advanced degree is a plus.


Required skills:

The person applying for this position ideally has experience with human clinical trials, whether it is from an academic, pharmaceutical CRO, or industry setting. This position requires a combination of sales management skills and personal selling skills. A strong knowledge of sales techniques and marketing helps present information to potential clients. Employee management skills and experience are a plus. Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft software products is essential for performing duties. Good organizational skills are essential to carry out assigned tasks effectively. Strong interpersonal communication skills are critical to promoting company services and programs, identifying and responding to clients' and potential clients' needs, and building professional relationships. Knowledge of marketing and business development project management and collaboration with technical research service leaders is helpful. The position works toward specific goals and targets established with the supervisor.



Work Environment:

This position is remote, with occasional travel to the home office for client visits and meetings. The usual work hours are 40 hours a week. Some notable projects may require the position to work extended hours. The position spends extended periods of time on the telephone talking with clients and potential clients while also reviewing information on a computer screen. Physical dexterity in operating a keyboard is required. Occasional travel may occur to offsite meetings or training seminars.
