The Employee Relations Consultant may directly handle complaints that are raised through various internal escalation channels by conducting internal investigations, cultural assessments, and helping to resolve employee conflicts through facilitated discussions. The Employee Relations Consultant may be responsible for advising stakeholders on Employee Relations / management best practices, with the focus of resolving and/or preventing workplace conflicts. The Employee Relations Consultant may partner with the Legal Department on responding to lawsuits, agency claims, attorney letters, etc. The Employee Relations Consultant may be responsible for drafting or revising Human Resources Policies & Procedures and providing interpretation of policy / guidance to HR and the business. The Employee Relations Consultant may also be responsible for supporting or leading various HR projects, including in the change/transformation space. The Employee Relations Consultant will also leverage their technical skills to conduct data analysis and prepare reporting and/or papers to support investigations and other Employee Relations activities.

As an Employee Relations Consultant you will:

  • * Manage internal investigations end-to-end, i.e. Review, investigate, and resolve internal complaints
  • Advise stakeholders on Employee Relations / management best practices
  • Partner with Legal to respond to lawsuits, agency claims, attorney letters, etc.
  • Draft or revise Human Resources Policies & Procedures and provide interpretation / guidance / advice on existing policies and procedures
  • Support or lead various HR projects
  • Analyze data and develop reporting and/or draft papers
  • Develop relationships with various stakeholders
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential workplace conflicts
  • Other duties, as needed

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $82,600.00 and $123,900.00.

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, or equivalent experience in Employee Relations is strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, negotiation and relationship building skills particularly with stakeholders of various seniority levels
  • Experience in conducting internal investigations is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrable expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, OneNote, Teams, PowerPoint)
  • Problem solving skills, curiosity, and strong attention to detail
  • Experience in proactively identifying and resolving workplace conflicts
  • Consultative HR partner experience
  • Experience with conducting data analysis, creating PowerPoint decks, and drafting papers is strongly preferred
  • Project management experience
