Job Description

Position Highlights:
* Position: Clinical Research Nurse
* Location: Evanston Hospital
* Full Time: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
* Hours: 8:30AM-5:00PM Monday to Friday
* Required Travel: Willing to travel between NorthShore hospitals occassionally

What you will need:
* License: Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required
* Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred
* Certification: N/A
* Experience: Prior Oncology nursing experience or research nursing experience preferred. Must be detail oriented and can multi-task. Must be organized. Able to clearly communicate with patients, physicians, and other clinical staff. Strong computer skills such as Excel, Microsoft Word, internet and e-mail.

What you will do:

You will function as the immunotherapy research nurse. You will collaborate with our immunotherapy physician leads to work with pharmaceutical companies, the NCI and other collaborators to bring immunotherapy related clinical trials and translational research trials to our institution and our patients and to execute on these trials. The immunotherapy research nurse may collaborate or lead other administrative and novel aspects of our cancer immunotherapy program.

In addition, as part of this role you will also

  • Actively participate in clinical meetings and departmental meetings
  • Collect scientific samples and detailed, accurate data
  • Arrange follow-up medical care to insure ongoing monitoring of patients in research protocols
  • Report adverse events to principal investigator, IRB, and sponsor in a timely manner
  • Consent patients and overseeing their care in regards to clinical protocols. Perform data entry as required in various software programs.
