Position Overview: AGI is seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic to join our team at ORD. As a Forklift Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of our fleet of forklifts and other ground support equipment. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in forklift maintenance and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on forklifts and other ground support equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems with forklifts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct regular inspections of forklifts to identify and address any potential issues or safety hazards.
• Replace worn or damaged parts and components, such as belts, hoses, bearings, and filters.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to manufacturer recommendations and established maintenance schedules.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, parts usage, and equipment history.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, equipment, and parts inventory.
• Assist with other maintenance tasks and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in forklift maintenance and repair.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of forklift systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulics.
• Familiarity with forklift maintenance procedures and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
