What You Will Do:

The Student Food Pantry Coordinator provides administrative support to the Associate Director of Campus and Community Resources and to other individuals in the Student Affairs divisions as needed. The Student Food Pantry Coordinator will aid in the operations of the food pantry, including but not limited to supervision and coordination of food pantry volunteers, purchasing and restocking of food pantry items, coordination of food delivery program, and reports as required.

Essential Responsibilities

    Assist with the daily operations of the food pantry and aid students with food insecurities in the distribution of food. Coordinate deliveries, purchase pantry items, and assist with finding additional donors.
  • Assist in the coordination of special events, food/toiletry drives, and implementation of holiday and seasonal programs.
  • Assist in data entry that tracks food distribution and donations from various entities and generates monthly reports.
  • Train and assist with the supervision of pantry volunteers, student workers, interns, and service learning students. Help create student worker and volunteer procedures and assist in managing student tasks and schedules.
  • Operate the Food Pantry in the absence of the Associate Director of Campus and Community Resources.
  • Support Associate Director by identifying organizational and community needs, designing and implementing new programs, and writing procedures.
  • Preform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required.
  • Customer service troubleshooting.
  • Social Media and digital communication content development.
  • One year of prior experience in administration/retail/or some combination of work and extracurricular activity that would readily prepare applicant for the position.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have 3-5 years of experience with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Internet usage.
  • Versatility: Is able to take on a variety of different tasks and roles in the organization. Can move in a relatively seamless manner from one task or focus to another and can fill in for other team members when they are absent or are experiencing work overload.
  • Customer Service Focus: Deal with challenging student interactions in a professional and diplomatic manner, and maintain a calm and courteous office environment at all times. Handle complaints and conflicts diplomatically to diffuse potentially volatile situations as required.
