Job Description

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Billing Rep III
  • Location: Skokie, IL
  • Full Time
  • Hours: Standard business hours, Mon-Fri

What you will do:

  • Daily work accounts in the Workques by reviewing type of accident, place of accident
  • Send an MSP letter to the patient or call if high $$
  • If third party insurance is obtained and the total charges is $1000.00 or greater update the patient's account with the Med Pay/Liability insurance. Initiate bill and add to account W/Q 728 for possible lien. Follow Procedure Department Guidelines
  • Rebill, if necessary, update and/or relocate charges as needed to correct accounts
  • Work Medicare accounts with accident injuries for possible Med Pay/Liability/as required by MSPQ
  • Work assigned system generated reports/Work Queues
  • Request and track receipt of medical records requests initiated by billing staff
  • Transfer charges between accounts
  • Generate itemized bills as requested by the billing representatives

What you will need:

  • Education: High School Graduate or equivalent, required. 2+ years under graduate education, strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years healthcare business office experience, required. Minimum of 6 months experience in specialty area, required. Minimum of 1 year lead or supervisory experience, strongly preferred.
