The Account Solutions Associate will learn the various duties of working within the Service Delivery Group, the role will primarily focus on the Account Solutions Department and will have exposure to the Fleet Execution, Contracts and Mechanical Records departments. This role is team-focused and requires an individual capable of providing the levels of service necessary to achieve the highest degree of customer loyalty. The associate will develop a good understanding of the functions performed by the Service Delivery Group and develop railcar technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

Account Solutions:

    Respond to customer requests to shop cars for compliance. Communicate these requirements to the appropriate shop including the related supporting documents.
  • Review repair estimates and communicate customer liability charges to the customer. Utilize customer specific contracts to determine if any customer liability items are actually owner's responsibility.
  • Act as the main contact for our customers for all activities (outside the sales function) related to the management and utilization of GATX leased railcars.
  • Monitor compliance requirements and work with customers to keep cars in compliance per AAR regulations. Collaborate with customer to ensure spec requirements are met and acceptable to GATX.

Fleet Execution:

  • Complete order review and entry, contract assignment and rental billing of cars, ordering cars from storage and tracing cars to ensure they are in transit, creating service instructions for cars going to a repair facility and trouble-shooting and creating solutions when unforeseen issues occur in order to meet on time delivery.

Contracts:

  • Provide accurate, consistent, and timely contracts to customers for the GATX commercial organization. Contracts include the master contract and rider legal documents for the sale and leasing of GATX's fleet of railcars as well as any necessary amendments or additional legal documents.

Mechanical Records:

  • Update and maintain mechanical records, review and track documentation required by regulatory agencies, process Inbound Validation (IVP) form data received from GATX Rail Service Centers, Mini-Mobile Units and contract shops.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (Supply Chain or Logistics preferred); equivalent industry or customer facing experience acceptable.
  • 0 - 2 years' experience in a customer facing or industry related job
  • General rail industry knowledge desirable
  • Strong PC skills are required with a good knowledge of Microsoft Applications
  • SAP experience is desirable
  • HYBRID role
  • Some travel required. Usually to visit customers or participate in customer related events.
