Summary/Objective:

As a Data Engineer at Lippert, you will be instrumental in overseeing and enhancing our key data assets. Your duties will encompass the creation and execution of data pipelines, upholding data integrity, and contributing to AI and analytics projects to maintain precise and uniform data throughout our organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to support AI, analytics, and reporting needs.
  2. Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and transformations to ensure data integrity.
  3. Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and align them with business needs.
  4. Develop Power BI semantic models and dashboards.
  5. Strong desire to document and automate common tasks.
  6. Participate in data governance efforts, including data cleansing, standardization, and de-duplication.
  7. Monitor data quality, identify issues, and develop solutions to improve data accuracy.
  8. Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering, analytics, and AI.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily working indoors, office environment.
  • May sit for several hours at a time.
  • Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
  • Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.

Qualifications:

  1. 2+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related field
  2. 2+ years of utilizing modern data warehouse platforms

Essential Functions:

  1. Develop scalable and performant data pipelines that collect, connect, centralize, and curate data from various sources to support analytics and decision-making across Lippert.
  2. Implement and manage databases and data warehousing solutions, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and backup processes for operational and analytical applications.
  3. Develop and enforce policies and procedures for data management and governance to maintain high data quality and reliability. This includes monitoring data quality, diagnosing and fixing data issues, and implementing data security and privacy measures.
  4. Evaluate data systems for improvements in data processing, storage, and retrieval efficiencies.
  5. Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in data engineering technologies and methodologies.
  6. Optimize data processing and query performance through tuning and advanced optimization techniques.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time salary position.

Travel:

Travel will be minimal and would be primarily local during the business day.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. Proficiency in Databricks platform
  2. Experience with Dynamics365 for Finance and Operations or DynamicsAX
  3. Programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java
